About Us

Improper Fractions Wellness had a soft start in 2021 with holiday craft fairs in December of that year. The official start was January 2022 when founder, Jen Gaouette, legalized the company and put plans into action to spread more healing and loving energy into the world. Readers may notice that this website and other posts will say 'us' or 'we' or other plural forms to refer to Improper Fractions Wellness. At this time, it is a single-person business run by me.

The plural forms continue to be used because Improper Fractions Wellness is about us all - me, you, our loved ones, our not-so-loved ones, those who have passed, and those who are here but have not found us yet. Sometimes, it's important to think of the collective rather than always thinking of ourselves as singular.

Also, this venture was dreamed of multiple years ago with my best friend (sometimes sister) Cate. Although Cate passed away as a result of mental illness many years ago now, she continues to be with me and provide me support in everything I do. While I cannot be with her physical form anymore, she is still a very large portion of my journey into holistic topics including connecting with the universal energies. She is still a confidante, a guide, an empathetic ear, a friend, and for that reason, she is the 13 in our 13 over 11 fraction of the logo. She will always be there, maybe not looking down, but beside me and beside those that benefit from the energy I put into the world. When I use we, I think of Cate and me.
